Be a Protector

The temperature is dropping and COVID-19 cases are rising – but our daily choices and actions can save thousands of lives between now and the spring.

We know some people are getting tired of following COVID-19 prevention practices. Choosing to stay safe over the winter holidays can be especially hard.

We need your ideas and creative energy to help protect your community!

You’ve probably already heard about the best ways to prevent COVID-19, but here are some reminders:

Physical and social distancing
  • Stay home as much as possible.
  • Limit contact between people from different households.
  • Plan safe virtual holiday gatherings.
  • Make safe social and physical “bubbles” around people at high risk of COVID-19 illness.
Always wear a mask around people from other households
Wash your hands often
If you start having symptoms or were in contact with someone with COVID-19:

About

About CEAL

Community Engagement Alliance (CEAL) Against COVID-19 Disparities

CEAL is a national, NIH-funded program working toward a goal of reducing the burden of COVID-19 on the hardest hit communities.

The Michigan branch of CEAL is Michigan Communities Conquering COVID-19 (MICCC). MICCC is run by the Community Engagement program at the Michigan Institute for Clinical & Health Research (MICHR), Michigan Medicine, and the U-M School of Public Health (SPH). The goal of MICCC is to reduce health disparities experienced by African-American and Latino populations in Wayne, Genesee, Kent, and Washtenaw Counties, which became more pronounced with the pandemic’s onset.
