Michigan Communities Conquering COVID-19 (MICCC) wants you to share your creativity to help save lives.
Do you have an idea for a “new way” to deliver an “old message” about COVID-19 safety?
Do you have a personal story to tell about why and how you are staying safe or keeping others safe from COVID-19 this winter?
Is there someone you would like to thank for protecting themselves, a family member, a friend, or the community from COVID-19?

The temperature is dropping and COVID-19 cases are rising – but our daily choices and actions can save thousands of lives between now and the spring.
We know some people are getting tired of following COVID-19 prevention practices. Choosing to stay safe over the winter holidays can be especially hard.
We need your ideas and creative energy to help protect your community!

Community Engagement Alliance (CEAL) Against COVID-19 Disparities
CEAL is a national, NIH-funded program working toward a goal of reducing the burden of COVID-19 on the hardest hit communities.
The Michigan branch of CEAL is Michigan Communities Conquering COVID-19 (MICCC). MICCC is run by the Community Engagement program at the Michigan Institute for Clinical & Health Research (MICHR), Michigan Medicine, and the U-M School of Public Health (SPH). The goal of MICCC is to reduce health disparities experienced by African-American and Latino populations in Wayne, Genesee, Kent, and Washtenaw Counties, which became more pronounced with the pandemic’s onset.
The “Take the Mic” contest is also a research study. The University of Michigan and its partners want to understand if messages created by our community can protect people from COVID-19.
